John Paul Mitchell Systems, a leading name in the global haircare industry, has announced its decision to move its corporate headquarters from California to Dallas, Texas. Known for its renowned product lines such as Paul Mitchell, Tea Tree, and Neuro, the company’s relocation plan includes the establishment of a new global distribution center. This strategic move is expected to create 80 new jobs and inject over $12 million in capital investment into the local economy.

In a press release, Texas Governor Greg Abbott welcomed the company’s decision, highlighting it as a testament to Texas’s burgeoning economic landscape. “Texas is the headquarters of headquarters,” Abbott remarked, praising the state’s skilled workforce, expansive reach, and supportive pro-growth policies as key attractions for industry leaders globally.

In support of this relocation, the State of Texas has awarded John Paul Mitchell Systems a $640,000 grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF), a program dedicated to promoting job creation and corporate investments. Additionally, the company has been granted an $8,000 Veteran-Created Job Bonus. Co-founder John Paul DeJoria, a resident of Austin for 25 years, expressed gratitude for the state’s support. “I’m honored that John Paul Mitchell Systems was selected as a grant recipient,” DeJoria stated, underscoring the importance of such initiatives in fostering business investment in Texas communities.

This move aligns with a larger trend of significant corporations relocating to Texas in recent years, joining the ranks of companies like Chevron, KFC, SpaceX, X, and Nasdaq, which have all either moved their headquarters or established major regional offices in the state. John Paul Mitchell Systems, distributing its products in over 30 countries, is recognized as a prominent entity in the professional haircare market.
