I-20 closed after fatal pedestrian accident, say police

DALLAS, Texas– A fatal auto-pedestrian incident occurred on Interstate 20 in Arlington, Texas, early Saturday morning, as confirmed by the Arlington Police Department.

The accident took place around 5:30 a.m. on the westbound lanes of the highway at the intersection with Matlock Road. The collision involved a female pedestrian who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The tragic incident led to the immediate closure of the westbound lanes of I-20. Authorities diverted all traffic off the highway at Main Street to manage the flow and ensure safety.

Officials urged motorists to remain cautious and follow any directions provided by police officers directing traffic.
