Erykah Badu makes a comeback with new tracks

A renowned artist returned to the stage in her hometown with fresh material that signals a new chapter in her career after more than a decade away from releasing new music.

Erykah Badu, widely regarded as the Queen of Neo-Soul, performed at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, marking her first public music presentation in years.

During the Juneteenth concert, Badu introduced two new singles: “Next to You,” a collaboration with producer The Alchemist, and “Echos 19 (mix 122).” Both tracks are now available on streaming platforms.

The event also served as a preview for Badu’s forthcoming studio album, her first in 15 years, released under her label, Control FREAQ Records.

Badu’s performance included selections from her acclaimed past albums, showcasing the legacy she has built over decades. The collaboration with The Alchemist points to an innovative musical direction that has generated anticipation ahead of the full album release.

The Dallas concert was not only a celebration of Badu’s past achievements but also a significant milestone as she re-establishes her presence in the music industry.
