Vietnam secured its third consecutive championship at the AVC Women’s Nations Cup, defeating Alas Pilipinas in the final match held at Dong Anh Arena in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Alas Pilipinas, representing the Philippines, earned its first silver medal in the competition, marking significant progress in the nation’s women’s volleyball program.
Vietnam’s team, led by standout players Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, dominated the match with scores of 25-15, 25-17, and 25-14, completing a six-game sweep of the tournament.
Tran scored 20 points, while Nguyen added 17, leading their team to victory.
The final match highlighted the growing capabilities of the Philippine team, despite being overpowered by the more experienced Vietnamese champions.
