MANILA, Philippines– Vice President Sara Duterte returned to the Philippines on Saturday, June 14, 2023, after a personal trip to Malaysia, confirmed her office.
Duterte traveled to Malaysia, where she joined the Filipino community in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday for an Independence Day celebration.
The Vice President arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila early on Saturday morning.
Her trip to Malaysia lasted four days and was characterized as personal.
During her stay in Kuala Lumpur, Duterte engaged with the Filipino diaspora, partaking in festivities marking the Philippines’ Independence Day.
The Vice President’s office released a statement regarding her return but did not provide additional details on the trip’s agenda.
Sara Duterte’s visit coincided with the annual celebration of Philippine independence, underscoring her participation in community events abroad.
The Vice President’s office has not disclosed future plans following her return to the country.
