Houston Independent School District (HISD) released the 2023 STAAR exam results on June 9, revealing gains in reading and math for students in grades 3 through 8 compared to the previous year.

HISD students showed improvement in reading and math from grades 3 through 8 with the exception of fifth-grade math, which maintained the same percentage of students meeting grade-level standards as last year.

The district’s performance in reading and math indicates significant progress, highlighting educational improvements across multiple grades.

The STAAR results showed consistent growth across almost all grade levels in both reading and math subjects.

While most grades saw an increase, fifth-grade math remained at the same percentage of students meeting grade-level standards as last year.

The latest STAAR scores underscore the district’s commitment to educational excellence and student achievement.
