MANILA, Philippines — Former onscreen and real-life partners Dingdong Dantes and Karylle appeared together on the June 11 episode of “It’s Showtime,” marking their first appearance on the same screen in years.
Dantes, alongside veteran actress and host Charo Santos, joined the noontime variety show to promote their upcoming film Only We Know. The two participated in the show’s “Kid Sona” segment.
Although Dantes and Karylle did not interact during the episode, their brief reunion drew attention from viewers and netizens. Many took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share their reactions, with some noting the visible chemistry between the two despite the lack of direct interaction.
Dantes previously visited It’s Showtime in December 2024 with his wife, actress Marian Rivera, to promote their MMFF entry Rewind. At the time, Karylle was not present during the segment.
Dantes and Karylle first worked together in the 2005 fantasy series Encantadia, where they played the characters Ybarro/Ybrahim and Sang’gre Alena, respectively. Their relationship, though kept mostly private, became a subject of public interest until their confirmed separation in 2008. Both later clarified that the breakup was due to a “conflict of priorities” and denied any third-party involvement.
Karylle is now married to musician Yael Yuzon, while Dantes married Rivera in 2014. Dantes and Rivera have two children.
