MANILA, Philippines– The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in the Philippines will offer nighttime voter registration from July 1 to 11 as part of its Register Anywhere Program (RAP) to increase participation in the December 1 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).

Comelec Chairperson George Garcia announced that the enhanced RAP will include both daytime and nighttime registration to accommodate voters who cannot register during regular hours. The program will be available nationwide.

Garcia emphasized the goal of boosting voter registration ahead of the elections and noted that extending registration hours could improve voter turnout.

The commission plans to monitor the initiative’s effectiveness, with the possibility of adopting nighttime registration in future elections if successful.

Comelec aims to remove barriers to registration and create a more accessible and inclusive electoral process. Eligible Filipinos are encouraged to take advantage of the expanded registration hours to participate in the upcoming elections.
