Flags at half-staff as Angleton honors fallen police sergeant

HOUSTON, Texas– Flags in Angleton, Texas, are being flown at half-staff to honor Sergeant J.D. White, a police officer who was struck and killed while escorting a funeral procession.

The incident occurred during a procession in which Sergeant White was providing escort services.

A vehicle struck Sergeant White, resulting in critical injuries.

Emergency services transported Sergeant White to a hospital via LifeFlight.

Medical personnel at the hospital provided treatment, but Sergeant White eventually succumbed to his injuries.

The community and law enforcement are mourning the loss of Sergeant White.
