MANILA, Philippines — Following their recent reunion, iconic Original Pilipino Music (OPM) rock band Rivermaya is set to take their comeback to an international stage with a world tour starting this September.

Drummer Mark Escueta announced the exciting news on Instagram, revealing the commencement of the #RivermayaTheReunionGlobalTour. “U.S. & Canada muna. Details SOON!” he wrote, indicating that the tour will kick off in the United States and Canada before extending to the Middle East, Singapore, Australia, and London.

The original lineup of Rivermaya, which included Bamboo Mañalac, Mark Escueta, Nathan Azarcon, Rico Blanco, and Perf de Castro, rose to fame in 1994. Perf left the band in 1995 after their first album, followed by Bamboo in 1998 during their tour in America and Canada. Rico Blanco then led the band to continued success until his departure in 2007.

Despite these changes, Rivermaya has remained active, with Nathan Azarcon rejoining the band and Mark Escueta continuing his role. This upcoming global tour marks a significant milestone for Rivermaya as they reconnect with their international fanbase and celebrate their enduring legacy in the music industry.
