President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that the United States will postpone the implementation of a planned 50% tariff on goods imported from the European Union.
Originally set to take effect on June 1, the new deadline for imposing the tariffs is now July 9.
The delay follows a phone call between Trump and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, during which she indicated a willingness to engage in serious negotiations.
Trump shared the update with reporters in Morristown, New Jersey.
