Phil Robertson, best known as the patriarch of the Robertson family on the reality TV series Duck Dynasty, has died at age 79, his daughter-in-law Korie Robertson announced on Facebook.
His passing on November 25, 2023, came months after the family revealed his battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Robertson founded the Duck Commander company in 1972, which became the focus of Duck Dynasty, a show that aired on A&E starting in 2012 and highlighted the family’s duck call business and Southern lifestyle.
Known for his outspoken nature, strong faith, and traditional values, Phil became a cultural icon through the series.
His family shared heartfelt tributes online, celebrating his life, influence, and dedication to family and faith. Though the original show ended in 2017, a revival is set for summer 2024, continuing the legacy he helped build.
