An Israeli airstrike in the southern Gaza city of Khan Yunis killed nine children from the same family, according to Gaza’s civil defense agency.
The children were reportedly the sons and daughters of a married couple, both of whom are doctors.
Civil defense spokesperson Mahmud Bassal said that rescue teams recovered the bodies from the rubble of the targeted home, noting that some of the remains were severely burned.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed it is reviewing reports of the incident but has not issued a detailed statement.
The airstrike is part of a broader Israeli military campaign in Gaza, which has drawn international criticism.
Aid organizations and foreign governments have called for increased humanitarian assistance to the region, particularly following a partial easing of the blockade on March 2.
