AUSTIN, Texas– A Central Texas school district announced a new incentive program Monday that offers signing bonuses of up to $10,000 for certified middle school teachers who join the district for the 2025–2026 school year.

Taylor Independent School District in Austin plans to award $10,000 to newly hired, certified middle school teachers who have at least three years of experience.

Teachers with less experience will receive a $5,000 bonus. Additional new hires may qualify for bonuses up to $1,500 based on their professional background.

The district also launched a $1,000 referral bonus for current staff members who successfully recruit qualified educators.

The program includes additional benefits such as affordable childcare, paid healthcare premiums, professional mentorship, ongoing training opportunities, and assistance with student loan forgiveness.

New teachers who meet the qualifications will become eligible for bonuses upon hiring. The district intends to use these incentives to improve recruitment, enhance instructional quality, and address teacher shortages.

Officials confirmed the bonuses will be distributed under the 2025–2026 compensation plan. Candidates can apply through the district’s official hiring platform.
