King Charles III has sent a letter to U.S. President Joe Biden expressing support after Biden’s recent prostate cancer diagnosis, Buckingham Palace confirmed on Monday.

The King, who is also undergoing cancer treatment, sent a personal message offering his best wishes to Biden over the weekend.

Biden, 82, was diagnosed with prostate cancer on Friday, with a Gleason score of nine, indicating a highly aggressive form of the disease.

A Gleason score ranges from 6 to 10, with higher scores indicating more aggressive cancer.

Biden’s office stated that his cancer is hormone-sensitive, which may allow for treatment with hormone-targeting drugs.

The announcement of Biden’s diagnosis has prompted support from numerous public figures, with King Charles among the first to offer his condolences.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the private nature of the King’s message and noted that Charles, 76, has previously met Biden.
