MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) officially proclaimed the 12 newly elected senators on Friday following the completion of the final official canvass for the 2025 midterm elections.

Senator Bong Go and former Senator Bam Aquino topped the senatorial race, securing the highest number of votes among all candidates.

Several close allies of former President Rodrigo Duterte, who remains in detention, gained seats in the upper chamber.

At the same time, two liberal opposition candidates succeeded in their Senate bids, signaling a growing diversity in political representation.

Comelec officials delivered the announcement at its national canvassing center in Manila, concluding the vote count that began shortly after the May 13 election day.
