Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant has been named the recipient of the NBA’s 2024–25 Magic Johnson Award, presented by the Professional Basketball Writers Association.
The award honors an NBA player who demonstrates excellence on the court and shows cooperation and professionalism in interactions with the media and fans.
Durant previously won the award in the 2010–11 season while playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
He becomes the fourth player to win the award twice, joining Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, and Shane Battier. Curry won in 2016 and 2024, Lillard in 2017 and 2020, and Battier in 2007 and 2013.
Durant recently became the eighth player in NBA history to score 30,000 career points. The association praised him for both his on-court performance and his consistent professionalism off the court.
The Magic Johnson Award underscores the value of strong media engagement and sportsmanship alongside athletic success.
