CANNES, France— Actress Halle Berry experienced a wardrobe change at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival following the introduction of the event’s updated dress code, announced on May 13.

Berry, who had initially planned to wear a stunning Gaurav Gupta gown to the opening gala, made a last-minute switch to comply with the new regulations.

The Cannes Film Festival’s updated dress code introduced significant changes, including a ban on extravagantly large dresses on the red carpet.

The new rules, aimed at minimizing disruptions and ensuring a smoother flow during the event, also allow for the inclusion of elegant flat shoes, departing from the traditional emphasis on high heels.

Berry, known for her graceful red carpet presence, quickly adapted her outfit to meet the new guidelines. She acknowledged the changes and opted for an ensemble that remained stylish and chic while conforming to the updated standards.
