HOUSTON, Texas– A woman in Houston hosted a quinceañera for her cat to raise funds for a local animal shelter. Miranda Gonzalez held the event at her home for her cat, Holly. It featured decorations, a mariachi band, and a dress for the cat.

Videos and photos from the event spread on social media, attracting attention on TikTok and Instagram. Gonzalez used the visibility to encourage donations to a nearby no-kill animal shelter. She asked attendees and online followers to donate instead of bringing gifts. An online fundraising page collected contributions from across the country.

The shelter reported an increase in donations and adoption inquiries after the event. Several animals were adopted, and local businesses donated food and pet supplies.

Gonzalez said she organized the event to support the shelter and promote animal welfare. She thanked the public for their response and urged others to support similar causes.
