MANILA, Philippines– Two members of the Duterte Youth party-list group filed an impeachment complaint against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday, accusing him of permitting the transfer of former President Rodrigo Duterte to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Former Duterte Youth party-list Representative Marie Cardema and former National Youth Commission Chairperson Ronald Cardema posted a copy of the “verified impeachment complaint” on Facebook, showing the front page of the document.

The Cardemas, both known allies of former President Duterte, have voiced their opposition to the administration’s actions in relation to international criminal proceedings.

Ronald Cardema previously sought a government position but was unsuccessful in securing a nomination. Despite this, both he and Marie Cardema continue to demonstrate strong support for Duterte and his policies, which they argue were undermined by Marcos’ administration.

As of this report, further details about the specific contents of the complaint have not been released by the party-list group. Efforts to contact representatives from the Duterte Youth party-list for comment were unsuccessful.
