MANILA, Philippines– Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla questioned an order from the Ombudsman in Manila, Philippines, on why he and four others were asked to submit counter-affidavits regarding alleged violations linked to the potential turnover of former President Rodrigo Duterte to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Remulla addressed the media, stating his intention to comply with the Ombudsman’s directive while expressing his confusion about the order, noting it stems from a chairman’s report rather than a committee report.

He assured that they would respond to each issue raised, emphasizing that all actions taken were within legal bounds and conducted according to the law.
