BEIJING, China– Chinese President Xi Jinping concluded his Southeast Asia tour in Cambodia on Friday, where he emphasized China’s reliability amid economic uncertainties caused by U.S. tariff proposals.

Xi visited three nations in Southeast Asia, promoting Beijing’s increased influence over the past decade through economic leverage.

China is presenting itself as a source of stability as U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs pose threats to the export-driven economies of the region.

These Southeast Asian nations primarily rely on the United States as their largest market for exports.

Cambodia, one of the countries Xi visited, faces significant reciprocal tariff rates proposed by Washington.

China seeks to assure these nations of its economic support during this period of potential economic instability.

Beijing aims to strengthen its ties with Southeast Asian countries as they navigate these challenges.
