MANILA, Philippines– The Bureau of Immigration (BI) and the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group arrested 86 foreigners in a raid conducted on a suspected scam hub at a condominium on Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue in Makati City, Philippines.
The BI announced plans to deport the apprehended individuals, comprising 82 Chinese nationals, three Malaysians, and one Vietnamese.
Authorities found the foreigners allegedly forced to work as online scammers.
None of the arrested individuals possessed valid documents proving their legal work or residence status in the Philippines.
The authorities are now processing deportation procedures for the detained foreign nationals.
The suspects are currently held for further investigation and processing.
