The Texas House approved a $337 billion budget for the 2026-2027 biennium on Friday morning after more than 15 hours of debate.

The budget includes significant allocations for education, border security, and public infrastructure.

Lawmakers earmarked approximately $134 billion specifically for education, marking a $16 billion increase from previous plans.

The extensive budget proposal will next proceed to a conference committee for further discussion and refinement between both legislative chambers.

The conference committee will include representatives from both the Texas House and Senate to finalize the budget details.
