Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball met the family of Alex Reinhardt, the donor of the knee cartilage he received during a transplant two years ago.

The meeting took place before Wednesday’s game against the Miami Heat.

Ball engaged with Reinhardt’s mother, father, older brother, younger brother, and soon-to-be sister-in-law.

Reinhardt, from Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, passed away at the age of 20 in February 2023.

Ball participated in the meeting by signing jerseys and taking photographs with the family.

Angie Reinhardt, Alex’s mother, experienced an emotional moment during the encounter.

The meeting occurred next to the Bulls’ bench at the game.

Ball underwent the knee cartilage transplant in March 2023 after several unsuccessful procedures to treat an injury.

Ball missed a game due to a sprained wrist, unrelated to his knee condition.
