SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic– A roof collapsed at a nightclub in the Dominican Republic, claiming more than 60 lives and injuring at least 160 individuals.

The Professional Baseball League of the Dominican Republic confirmed through social media that former Major League Baseball pitcher Octavio Dotel was among those who lost their lives in the incident.

Dotel, known for his successful career in baseball, was present at the nightclub at the time of the collapse.

Relatives and friends of the victims have gathered at the site and hospitals, mourning the sudden loss of lives. The community has shown support and solidarity, with many reaching out to offer assistance to those affected by the tragedy.
