HOUSTON, Texas– Fort Bend Independent School District trustees in Texas are considering a gender fluidity policy similar to those adopted by nearby districts Cy-Fair ISD and Katy ISD.
The policy proposal is currently under discussion by the Fort Bend ISD board, with a potential vote scheduled for an upcoming meeting.
Katy ISD’s gender identity guidelines have prompted a federal investigation by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights to determine if they are discriminatory.
The investigation focuses on whether the policy complies with Title IX, which prohibits discrimination based on sex in educational institutions.
