Filipina designer Deya Tsyna stands out in ASEAN furniture competition

MANILA, Philippines–A 25-year-old Filipina furniture designer, won the Popular Vote award at the ASEAN Furniture Design Award 2025 in Thailand.

Deya Tsyna’s winning design, the “Amara Bench,” pays tribute to traditional weaving techniques from Bohol and the resilient women in her life.

The competition, part of the STYLE Bangkok 2025 event, showcased emerging designers from the ASEAN region.

The ASEAN Furniture Design Award is organized by the ASEAN Furniture Industries Council (AFIC).

The awards ceremony took place at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand.

Her design stood out in a field of young talents representing different ASEAN countries.
