Blackpink member Jennie won the Global Force Award at the Billboard Women in Music 2025 Awards held in Los Angeles, making her the first K-pop soloist to receive this honor.

The event took place at the YouTube Theater, where Jennie delivered a speech celebrating women’s strength and creativity in the music industry, aligning with the observance of women’s month.

Jennie, known for her role as a multi-talented K-pop superstar, was recognized for her significant influence and impact on the global music scene.

She received the award shortly after releasing her latest solo album, “Ruby,” which includes collaborations with artists such as Childish Gambino, Dua Lipa, Doechii, Dominic Fike, FKJ, and Kali Uchis.

During her speech, Jennie described the award as a tribute to every woman who dreams and shapes the world with her vision, emphasizing the power of women coming together.

Despite appearing composed on stage, Jennie later shared on Instagram that she felt overwhelmed and unable to fully express her thoughts during her speech.

She thanked Billboard for the honor and expressed gratitude to the women she works with, her fans, and her fellow Blackpink members, acknowledging their support and inspiration.
