Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande presented new footage from “Wicked: For Good” during the Universal Pictures and Focus Features presentation at CinemaCon on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Director Jon M. Chu joined Erivo and Grande on stage, marking the third consecutive year “Wicked” closed Universal’s CinemaCon presentation.

Chu expressed gratitude that the first “Wicked” film, released last year, achieved critical acclaim and box office success.

“Wicked: For Good” is set to premiere in theaters this November, concluding the adaptation of the Broadway musical inspired by “The Wizard of Oz.”

Cynthia Erivo stars as Elphaba Thropp, the Wicked Witch of the West, while Ariana Grande portrays Galinda, the future Good Witch of the South.

Grande and Erivo mentioned a sentimental press tour and assured the audience of fewer emotional moments this year.

The presentation included a montage of clips from the upcoming film, adding to an impressive showcase of Universal’s future releases.

Universal Pictures highlighted its upcoming slate, emphasizing films with iconic music like “Jurassic Park” and “Wicked.”

The studio announced “Jurassic World: Rebirth,” slated for release in July, featuring stars Mahershala Ali and Scarlett Johansson.

Johansson expressed her long-time desire to join a “Jurassic” film, celebrating the fulfillment of her dream.

The event also previewed “How to Train Your Dragon,” a live-action adaptation starring Gerard Butler and Mason Thames, set for a June release.
