SAPD: 2 dead in shooting at phone repair store near Helotes

A shooting incident occurred in a phone repair store near Helotes, San Antonio, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, according to San Antonio Police Department (SAPD).

The event took place on a weekday afternoon at a uBreakiFix location on Bandera Road.

Police reported that an altercation between a customer and store employees led to the violent encounter.

The customer, identified as 46-year-old Kenneth Mark McKnight, reportedly became agitated with the service provided. The argument escalated from verbal to physical, culminating in gunfire.

McKnight allegedly shot and killed a store employee, identified as 35-year-old Cody Houston Bell.

In response to the initial shooting, another employee at the store engaged McKnight with gunfire, resulting in McKnight’s death. The police confirmed that both men succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

SAPD officials indicated that the shooting was an isolated incident.

They emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the public following this event.

The store remained closed as the investigation proceeded, with police presence maintaining the security perimeter.

Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office took custody of the bodies for further examination.
