MANILA, Philippines- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Saturday praised Alexandra Eala for her historic performance at the 2025 Miami Open.

Eala, a Filipino tennis player, became the first from her country to reach the semifinals of a WTA 1000 event.

She entered the tournament as a wild card and began ranked 140th.

Eala’s journey in the Miami Open included a win against Iga Swiatek, a top-seeded Grand Slam champion.
