The film is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026, and will feature a mix of established Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) stars and new additions.

Chris Hemsworth returns to his iconic role as Thor, while Tom Hiddleston reprises his role as Loki. Anthony Mackie will also appear as Captain America, continuing the legacy of the character in the MCU.

In addition to the familiar faces, the cast will integrate actors from the “X-Men” universe and the upcoming “Fantastic Four: First Steps” film.

Some notable actors were absent from the announcement, including Tom Holland, known for his portrayal of Spider-Man, and Chris Evans, who previously played Captain America.

The announcement event concluded with a surprise appearance by Robert Downey Jr., who will take on the role of Doctor Doom. His involvement marks a shift from his previous role as Iron Man, adding intrigue to the upcoming movie.

The film’s blend of characters from different Marvel franchises aligns with Marvel Studios’ strategy to diversify its storytelling and build upon its vast superhero universe.

With the return of key characters and the introduction of new ones, “Avengers: Doomsday” promises to be a pivotal installment in the Marvel franchise.
