MANILA, Philippines– Filmmaker Darryl Yap posted a P20,000 bail after facing cyberlibel charges related to the teaser of his film The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma.

The charges, filed at the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court, allege that the film’s teaser defamed certain individuals. A warrant for Yap’s arrest was initially issued but was recalled once he posted bail.

Yap’s bail allows him to remain free while legal proceedings continue.

The court has set bail for each count of the cyberlibel charge at P10,000. The Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court will now review the evidence and proceed with hearings.

Known for his provocative films, Yap has often sparked public debates over his controversial content.
