JK Labajo honors fan who died in university fire

MANILA, Philippines–Singer Juan Karlos “JK” Labajo recently honored Trisha Macalagay, a fan who tragically lost her life in a fire at a university in Laguna.

Macalagay, a student known for her academic achievements and involvement in pageantry, was remembered for her contributions to her community.

During the Anilag Festival in Laguna, Labajo performed a cover of “Through the Years,” a song that was Macalagay’s favorite.

Labajo also visited Macalagay’s wake to offer his condolences to her family and express his gratitude for having known her. His visit was a show of support for the family and friends of the late fan.

Macalagay was a biology student at the university where the fire occurred. She was also recognized as Miss Paete Tourism. Authorities are investigating the incident to determine the cause of the fire.
