MOSCOW, Russia –Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed concerns about the proposed 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, which was put forward by the United States.
Speaking on Thursday, Putin indicated that further discussion and clarification were needed before Russia could consider agreeing to the proposal.
While expressing reservations, he also signaled Moscow’s willingness to engage in dialogue with U.S. President Donald Trump to explore the plan in more detail.
The ceasefire proposal, aimed at temporarily halting hostilities between Russia and Ukraine, was developed during talks between Ukraine and the U.S.
The Russian president emphasized that a thorough examination of the proposal was necessary to fully understand its implications, particularly the risk that a temporary halt in fighting could allow Ukraine to regroup and strengthen its military forces.
