MANILA, Philippines– Filipina actress Kris Bernal has made her return to television with the drama anthology Tadhana, marking the end of her two-year hiatus from acting.

Bernal, who had taken time off to focus on her new role as a mother, is now back in the spotlight, starring in the three-part series Tadhana: Abo ng Kahapon.

In the series, Bernal plays a mother who moves to America with her newborn child, taking on a job as a caregiver for an elderly man.

Throughout the storyline, her character faces significant challenges, including abuse from her employer.

Bernal’s break from acting was largely due to her dedication to her family, having given birth to her daughter, Hailee Lucca, in August 2023.

During this time, she embraced motherhood and took a step back from her career to focus on her family life.

Returning to the set, Bernal expressed her excitement about re-engaging with her craft and shared her joy at being able to perform again.

She acknowledged the challenge of balancing her responsibilities as both a mother and an actress, but found fulfillment in returning to the work she loves.

“Tadhana,” a popular weekly drama anthology on GMA Network, features stories based on real-life experiences.
