MANILA, Philippines– Labor and Employment Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma urged employers to consider flexible work arrangements in response to rising temperatures across the country.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining proper ventilation in workplaces to protect employees from the heat.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) recommended that employers explore adjustments such as flexible hours and other arrangements to ensure workers’ health and well-being.

Additionally, Laguesma suggested providing hydration stations and cool rest areas for employees during breaks.

The job fair also provided an opportunity for DOLE to engage with local businesses and job seekers, highlighting the need for job opportunities that are both economically viable and adaptable to climate challenges.

The initiative aligns with global trends of adapting workplaces to environmental conditions, emphasizing flexibility for long-term sustainability in labor practices.
