Woman tased during quick police pursuit on northwest side

SAN ANTONIO — A woman is in custody following a brief vehicle pursuit on the northwest side of the city, according to police.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop for a misdemeanor violation. The driver, a woman in her 40s, fled the scene, leading to a chase that lasted about five minutes.

During the pursuit, police say the woman discarded items believed to be methamphetamine.

The chase ended when the woman stopped her vehicle in the 7200 block of Lockhill Road. Officers attempted to remove her from the vehicle, but she resisted and allegedly attempted to put the vehicle in drive before being tased.

The woman is facing charges of felony evading arrest and possession of narcotics. No weapons were found in her possession.
