NEW YORK—TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), has announced plans to introduce a new boxing promotion through a multiyear partnership with Saudi Arabia.
The collaboration, which includes Saudi General Entertainment Authority Chairman Turki Alalshikh and subsidiary company Sela, aims to revitalize the boxing industry.
UFC President Dana White expressed confidence in the venture, drawing parallels to his success in making mixed martial arts mainstream. He believes the partnership will have a similar transformative effect on boxing.
Sela, with its experience in organizing large-scale events, will handle logistics for the boxing promotion, ensuring high-quality productions.
While specific details regarding fighters and event locations have not been released, the partnership aims to deliver top-tier boxing matches to an international audience.
