AUSTIN, Texas —Grassroots activists in Austin participated in the nationwide “National Day of Action” on Tuesday, organized by the local chapter of the 50501 movement.

The rally, held at the State Capitol, drew participants from various community groups across Central Texas, as part of coordinated protests in cities across the United States.

The 50501 movement, established in response to the 2016 election, advocates for progressive causes through grassroots organization and public demonstrations.

Key topics discussed at the Austin rally included the administration’s immigration policies, opposition to attempts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, and concerns about climate change and environmental protection.

Participants also called for greater attention to racial inequality, gender rights, and LGBTQ+ protections.

Activists emphasized that the “National Day of Action” was a reminder of the need for ongoing civic participation to drive meaningful change.
