MANILA, Philippines —The Philippine National Police (PNP) has denied receiving any direct donations from individuals alleged to be Chinese spies, following a Reuters report that implicated four Chinese nationals in donating vehicles to police authorities in Manila and Tarlac.
These individuals are reportedly linked to espionage activities and are suspected of having connections to groups affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party.
The PNP’s statement clarified that it has no records indicating the receipt of such donations.
While the donations have sparked public concerns, particularly in light of the alleged espionage ties, the PNP insists on its transparency and has stated that no documentation supports the claims made in the media.
Authorities in Manila and Tarlac, where the vehicles were allegedly donated, have not provided additional details on the situation, leaving some questions unanswered.
The Philippine government and law enforcement agencies are continuing to monitor the situation and may pursue further investigations to verify the claims.
