In an assertive move that highlights the ongoing growth and expansion within the Greater Houston area, a new residential development in Montgomery County is set to deliver approximately 700 homes, reinforcing the region’s position as a thriving suburban hub. Spearheaded by Johnson Land Ventures, a key player in Houston’s real estate sector and an affiliate of Johnson Development Corp., this large-scale 385-acre project is strategically located west of Lake Conroe, offering future residents a blend of serene living with modern conveniences.

The development, aptly named Briarley, positions itself just five miles from Lake Conroe and about 60 miles north of downtown Houston, marking it as an attractive option for those desiring proximity to the city while enjoying the tranquility of suburban life. Johnson Land Ventures has already commenced site preparations off Old Plantersville Road near Highway 105, with an initial rollout of 286 homes in the first phase. The project will culminate in a total of 682 homes, showcasing the company’s commitment to catering to the housing demand within this flourishing area.

Michael Cox, president of Johnson Land Ventures, confidently outlines the project’s vision, emphasizing its unique topographical features, picturesque vistas, and existing lakes as integral components that make Briarley stand out. The development, originally initiated by Redbird Development and known as Redbird Meadow, has since been rebranded and revitalized to better align with Johnson Land Ventures’ expansive vision. This transformation is a testament to the area’s potential and the developer’s assuredness in its design execution.

Homes in Briarley will sit on 60-foot, 70-foot, and 80-foot lots, with prices ranging from the $400,000s to the $700,000s, ensuring options that meet diverse buyer needs. The properties are zoned to the reputable Montgomery Independent School District, enhancing their appeal to families within the Greater Houston area. Sales are slated to begin this spring, with the first residents anticipated to settle in by the close of 2025.

Cox expresses confidence in Briarley’s ability to attract “move-up” buyers seeking larger properties and homes. Its prime location, merely a stone’s throw from downtown Montgomery and Montgomery High School, coupled with convenient access to both onsite lakes and the expansive Lake Conroe, positions it as a desirable living destination. Renowned builders such as Perry Homes, Chesmar Homes, and Highland Homes will spearhead the construction, ensuring quality and attention to detail in every residence.
