The Associated Press (AP) has filed a federal lawsuit against three White House officials, alleging that the Trump administration denied its reporters access to important presidential events, including the Oval Office and Air Force One.
The AP claims these actions violate its First Amendment rights and hinder its ability to report on the government.
The lawsuit names Susie Wiles, Chief of Staff; Karoline Leavitt, Press Secretary; and Taylor Budowich, Deputy Chief of Staff, as defendants.
AP argues that these officials were responsible for enforcing the restrictions, which the organization views as an attack on press freedom.
The AP is seeking an emergency court hearing to challenge the restrictions and reverse what it calls unconstitutional actions.
