A new bill introduced in the Texas Senate aims to provide key benefits for public school educators across the state.

The proposal seeks to offer free pre-kindergarten (pre-K) services to the children of public school teachers and introduce salary increases based on teachers’ years of experience.

Under the bill, teachers would have access to free pre-K for their children, which supporters say would help alleviate the financial strain of early childhood education for educators.

Additionally, the proposal includes a framework for salary raises linked to years of service and professional experience.

This experience-based pay model aims to recognize and reward veteran educators for their contributions.

The bill also seeks to expand an existing program that provides bonuses to teachers whose students demonstrate academic growth.

This would further incentivize teachers to focus on improving student performance, with financial rewards tied to measurable educational outcomes.
