DALLAS, Texas– McKinney, Texas, has approved a contract to design a new commercial terminal at McKinney National Airport.
The $72 million project, funded by local and federal sources, will feature three gates initially, with the potential to expand to five gates.
Construction is scheduled to begin in May, with operations expected to start by mid-2026.
The terminal will connect McKinney to destinations such as Orlando, Denver, Las Vegas, New York, and Los Angeles.
The airport’s expansion is expected to serve up to one million passengers annually by 2031.
The project aims to support the city’s growth and provide better connectivity within the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The new terminal will offer amenities for both business and leisure travelers.
McKinney National Airport’s expansion is part of a broader effort to improve the city’s infrastructure and accommodate its increasing population and business needs.
