MANILA, Philippines– Vilma Santos-Recto has publicly addressed accusations of establishing a political dynasty alongside her sons, Luis Manzano and Ryan Recto.

The trio has entered the political arena with a focus on public service as they prepare for the upcoming elections in Batangas province.

Santos-Recto, known for her successful acting career, is seeking to return as the governor of Batangas, a position she previously held.

Her elder son, Luis Manzano, a well-known television host and actor, has announced his candidacy for vice governor of the province.

Meanwhile, Ryan Recto, Santos-Recto’s younger son, is stepping into the political spotlight, filing his candidacy for the representative of Batangas’ 6th district, a seat once held by his mother.

In response to these concerns, Vilma Santos-Recto emphasized her family’s dedication to public service.

She pointed to her track record in public service and expressed her belief that running for office provides an opportunity to contribute to the community.

Santos-Recto urged voters to focus on the capabilities and dedication of the candidates, rather than their family connections, stressing the importance of electing officials based on merit and a genuine intent to serve.
