MANILA, Philippines– The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has unveiled changes to its Z Benefit Package for Peritoneal Dialysis, set to take effect on January 1, 2025.

These changes include the introduction of separate benefit packages for adult and pediatric patients, reflecting a tailored approach to healthcare for different age groups.

The coverage for peritoneal dialysis has been increased to ₱1.2 million, aimed at easing the financial burden for patients and families undergoing this essential treatment.

The new initiative is expected to provide substantial support, considering the high costs of dialysis care.

Under the new guidelines, adult patients will have access to a package specifically designed to meet their medical needs, while pediatric patients will benefit from a separate package that addresses the unique requirements of younger individuals receiving dialysis.

This move aligns with the commitment of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.’s administration to expand healthcare services, even in the absence of additional subsidies.
