Israel’s Ministry of Justice has announced the initial release of 737 prisoners under a Gaza ceasefire agreement.

The deal, approved on Saturday, aims to ease tensions and promote peace in the region. The government confirmed that these individuals will be released as part of ongoing efforts to foster dialogue between Israeli and Palestinian authorities.

The ceasefire agreement, which includes the prisoner release, is seen as a significant step toward reducing hostilities and encouraging further negotiations.

While the identities and specific charges of the prisoners set to be freed have not been disclosed, the release is expected to be a gesture of goodwill aimed at encouraging reciprocal actions from Palestinian authorities.

In addition to the prisoner release, the Gaza ceasefire agreement also includes provisions for the release of hostages held by Palestinian factions.

The exchange is seen as a key element in the broader negotiations, with the expectation that Israel’s actions will be reciprocated by Palestinian authorities.

While the timeline for the release remains unclear, the Israeli justice ministry assures that the process will adhere to legal standards and procedures.
