SAN ANTONIO– A one-year-old child, MKaya Amrani, has died after a vehicle crashed into the fenced play area at ExcellED Montessori Plus Daycare in Bexar County, Texas.
The accident, which occurred when the vehicle lost control, resulted in multiple injuries to children at the daycare.
MKaya was hospitalized in critical condition and later passed away after several weeks of treatment.
In response to the medical costs associated with MKaya’s care, the Amrani family has created a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for the expenses. The campaign has received support from the community.
ExcellED Montessori Plus Daycare has expressed condolences and stated it is reviewing safety measures to prevent similar incidents.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, including whether negligence or traffic violations contributed to the incident.
Other children injured in the crash are receiving medical care, and the daycare has made counseling services available for affected families and staff.
